Chest Trauma: Emergencies in the Field and Hospital Interventions
The presentation will discuss chest trauma as a whole, focusing initially on severe chest trauma that may require field interventions, what those are, and briefly how they are done. There will be focus on “slow killers” - the chest trauma that may require transport and hospitalization, and the newer mechanisms of injury (E bikes in particular) that we are seeing create injuries. Also, there will be commentary on blunt cardiac injuries and upper abdominal injuries that can complicate injuries to the thoracic area.
