Pre-Hospital Advanced Stroke Training (PHAST) Avista
This focused training equips EMS providers with the skills to rapidly assess, manage, and transport stroke patients. Participants will learn to identify stroke symptoms, stroke mimics, activate stroke alerts, communicate effectively with receiving facilities and support timely interventions. We will review neuro anatomy and physiology, examine patient care within the hospital setting (including medication administration and mechanical thrombectomy), go through case studies of actual patients, discuss patient assessment and imaging for different stroke-injured patients and understanding the patient's journey to recovery.
